Rajasthan Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Warning Issued, IMD Predicts More Rain Across State

Jaipur: The weather in Rajasthan has completely changed. Rain continues to lash the state. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 19 districts today. It is being predicted that this rain will intensify on August 10th.

What did the IMD say?

Torrential rain continues to lash several states across the country. Jaipur, Rajasthan, experienced continuous rainfall from 6 am to 9 am on Sunday, leaving roads in low-lying areas flooded with up to 3-4 feet of water. Water also entered homes. Colonies in Churu were also submerged.

According to the department, this rainy spell is likely to continue in the state until August 12-13. After this, it may weaken from August 14-15.

The India Meteorological Department released a report stating that in the past 24 hours, Bharatpur, Karauli, Alwar, and Jaipur received light to moderate rain on Saturday morning. Rain began in the evening in Jaisalmer, Phalodi, and Bikaner in western Rajasthan, continuing into the night.

What did the official say?

The director of the Meteorological Centre, Radheshyam Sharma, has stated, “The monsoon trough at the moment is passing through Anupgarh, Delhi, and Sidhi and going up to the Bay of Bengal. There is cyclonic circulation over northeastern Rajasthan.”

Meanwhile, rainfall activity is expected to increase in parts of southeastern and eastern Rajasthan from August 10th to 12th, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected. Except for the border areas of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, light to moderate rainfall will continue in some parts for the next three to four days.
