Army Major Killed, 2 Lieutenants Injured After SUV Hits Camel In Rajasthan

Jaisalmer: A horrific road accident occurred in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. An Army officer of Major rank, Hamza Arif, was killed in the accident, while two Lieutenant-rank officers were seriously injured after their private SUV collided with a camel and overturned near the Jaisalmer Military Station late Thursday night.
Where did the incident happen?
While returning to the station, the Army's Tata Safari suddenly collided with a camel standing on the road. The impact was so severe that the vehicle overturned four to five times and dragged for about 100 meters. Chaos ensued at the scene, and the injured officers were immediately rushed to the Army hospital.
The accident occurred around 12:30 am Thursday night in the Thaiyat area of the Sadar police station area. Major Hamza Arif was returning to the Army station after completing his duty with two colleagues, Lieutenants Ayushman and Abhinav Rathod. As their Tata Safari approached the Army station, a camel suddenly appeared on the road. The driver didn't have time to react, and the speeding SUV collided with the camel.
What was the impact?
After colliding with the camel, the Army SUV overturned four to five times and dragged for approximately 100 meters on the road. The vehicle was completely damaged. Hearing the sound of the accident, locals and Army personnel rushed to the scene. Immediate relief and rescue operations were initiated, and the three officers were taken to the Army hospital.
Doctors at the hospital declared Major Hamza Arif dead. He was a resident of Madhya Pradesh and had married just a month earlier. Meanwhile, the injured Lieutenants Ayushman and Abhinav Rathod are undergoing treatment at the army hospital. Both are reported to be in critical condition.

ASI Jagdish Charan of Sadar police station said that preliminary investigations suggest the accident was caused by a camel suddenly appearing on the road. However, all aspects of the accident are being investigated. The local police and the Military Police (Army Police) have launched a joint investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident and whether it could have been prevented.
