New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US Vice President JD Vance over the phone late Saturday night. The two leaders discussed ways to further deepen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in key areas.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with US Vice President JD Vance on the phone. Vance personally made the call to PM Modi. The two leaders reviewed the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the USA and explored avenues for enhancing its partnership in the future. PM Modi posted on social media about the discussion.
Taking to X, PM Modi said that he received a call from US Vice President JD Vance. "We discussed how to further strengthen the Indian-American Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in important areas, and expressed our warm congratulations to him and the Second Lady on the birth of their son and best wishes to the entire family," he said.

Why is the conversation important?

JD Vance's last publicly disclosed phone conversation with Prime Minister Modi took place in May 2025. At that time, tensions between India and Pakistan were high during Operation Sindoor. PM Modi later mentioned this conversation in the Lok Sabha.
