Speeding Car Kills Man, 3-Year-Old Daughter In Jaipur; Driver Arrested

Jaipur: A motorcycle was hit by a speeding car late on Sunday night in Sanganer Stadium, Jaipur, killing a 35-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter, and critically injuring his wife and son, police said.

A pair of people including a small toddler died, another two were severely injured after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle late Sunday night outside Sanganer Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan, police said.
The car driver, who had hit six other cars, was allegedly trying to get away after the accident. He was later picked up by police near Haldighati Gate in Pratap Nagar while a police blockage was in place.
What did the police say?
Police said that the car was travelling from Chauradiya petrol pump to the Sangasetu culvert when it pulled over the motorcycle at Sanganer Stadium. The damage was so bad that the whole family, including their motorcycle, were thrown several metres away onto the road.
The injured family members, who were in critical condition, was rushed to a hospital. Upon arrival, doctors said the man and his daughter were dead. Their bodies were taken to the mortuary of Jaipuria Hospital for post-mortem.
What did the official say?
Malpura Gate SHO Udaybhan Yadav said that the deceased were identified as Vishnu, 35, a resident of Bharatpur and his daughter, 3 years. Vishnu's wife and son are admitted in SMS Hospital with serious injuries and are in critical condition.
The driver had tried to escape from the accident spot, which resulted in six other cars being hit, before he left the area, police said. Following the incident, police set up a blockade and apprehended him near Haldighati Gate in Pratap Nagar. Further investigation is underway.
