Monsoon Active In Rajasthan; IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert For Next 48 hours

Jaipur:  Monsoon activity has resumed in Rajasthan. The India Meteorological Department says it will rain hard in the southeast and east parts of Rajasthan for the next two days. There is a low-pressure area, over the northwest part of Madhya Pradesh. The monsoon season is going over Bikaner. This is why Rajasthan is getting a lot of rain and thunderstorms. The monsoon season is bringing all this rain to Rajasthan.

What did IMD say?

According to information received from the Meteorological Center, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded in several districts of the state in the last 24 hours. Jhalawar district was the hardest hit, where torrential rain has disrupted normal life. A record 300 mm of rainfall was recorded in the Sunel area of Jhalawar. In addition, extremely heavy rainfall was also recorded in Bundi and Kota. In Banswara, Banda, and Didwana districts, heavy to very heavy rainfall was also recorded at some locations, causing rivers and streams to overflow.

What about the rain alert?

The intensity of rain is expected to be the highest in Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jaipur divisions of the state today. Moderate to heavy and very heavy rains may occur in some parts of these divisions. On the other hand, clouds will also be visible in Bharatpur, Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions and there are chances of moderate to heavy rains at some places. This spell of rain will continue in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions on 12th August as well. Heavy rain warning has been issued for 12th August in South-East Rajasthan, where heavy rains may also occur at one or two places.

According to the Meteorological Department, there are signs of a decrease in heavy rainfall activities in the state from August 13. On that day, light to moderate rain will occur in many parts of the state, while there will be scope for heavy rain only at one or two places in eastern Rajasthan. From August 14, rain activities will decrease to a great extent in Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer divisions, although moderate rain may continue in the northwestern, northern and eastern parts. Finally, from August 15, the intensity of monsoon will decrease significantly in most parts of Rajasthan.
