Noida: A woman living in a society in Sector-82 has filed a police complaint against her husband and in-laws after about one and a half years of marriage. The woman alleges that since marriage the husband maintained distance from her and avoided marital relations. Later, when she took her husband to the doctor, the woman claimed that during the examination, information regarding his sexual identity came to light. After this the dispute escalated and the woman has made serious allegations of harassment against her in-laws including an attempt to kill her husband. The police are investigating the matter on the basis of the complaint.

Was the husband maintaining distance from his wife since marriage?

In the complaint given to the police, the woman told that her marriage took place on 17 November 2024 in Prayagraj. The family donated dowry for the marriage as per their capacity. The woman says that after marriage, she expected that married life would progress normally, but the husband maintained distance from her. Even after several months, a relationship like husband-wife could not be established between them. According to the woman, during this time the in-laws started demanding a car and a flat in additional dowry. When his demand was not met, he was allegedly tortured.

Did your husband's behavior not change even on honeymoon?

According to the complaint, sometime after marriage, the woman had gone to Thailand with her husband for honeymoon. The woman alleges that even during her trip abroad, the husband maintained distance from her and assaulted her. The dispute escalated so much that both of them had to end their honeymoon midway and return to India. The woman says that after this entire incident, many questions started arising in her mind regarding her husband's behaviour.

What was revealed when taken to the doctor?

According to the woman, after about a year of marriage, she took her husband to the doctor. In the complaint, she claimed that during the medical examination the doctor informed her about her husband's sexual identity. The woman alleges that on hearing this the husband started arguing with the doctor and left from there. After this the woman allegedly gave this information to her sister-in-law and brother-in-law. According to the woman, both of them did not take the matter seriously. She told the police that her sister-in-law had a role in arranging the relationship.

Did the woman also make serious allegations against her in-laws?

In her complaint, the woman has accused not only her husband but also her mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law. She alleges that she was abused after information about her husband's alleged sexual identity came to light. The woman has also accused her husband of trying to kill her by strangulating her. However, these allegations have not yet been independently confirmed. The police is investigating the allegations made in the complaint and the status of the entire matter will be clear only after the investigation is completed.

Has the police started investigation in the matter?

Apart from her husband, the woman has also demanded action against other members of her in-laws family. At present the matter is at the level of allegations and complaint. The police are now investigating the allegations made in the complaint, the claims related to the medical examination and the role of other family members. It is also important that a person's sexual identity is not a crime in itself. The main questions before the police in this case are related to the veracity of the alleged marital fraud, harassment, violence and other allegations made by the woman.
