Inside The SUV Of Atiq Ahmed's Son: What Police Found After The Deadly Crash

Jhansi: Abaan, the youngest son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, died in a road accident on Thursday. He was travelling on a highway when his car crashed into a divider in the Poonch police station area of Jhansi. The impact severely damaged the front of the vehicle. The accident claimed the lives of two people and left three others, including Abaan, seriously injured. After the incident, a forensic team conducted a detailed examination of the car.

What was there in the car?

A forensic investigation was conducted, and the team retrieved a number of items from the vehicle. The two most popular novels are receiving the most attention. According to the forensic team, two novels were found in the car: "The Stationery Shop of Tehran" and "The Idiot."

Many items were recovered from the vehicle that may be important in the investigation. The police have retained the recovered items as evidence. The four cell phones can also be investigated. The car contained the following items:

• Signature Gutkha packets
• Classic cigarette case
• Two English books
• One pair of shoes and four pairs of slippers
• Four mobile phones, other small items

Where did the incident happen?

According to reports, Abaan was on his way to visit his elder brother Ali Ahmed in Jhansi jail from Prayagraj when the incident took place. The SUV was travelling at high speed when its driver lost control, and it crashed into a divider on the highway near Poonch police station area of Jhansi, police said. In the accident, two people, including his friend Mohammad Shakir alias Sonu, were killed and three others were seriously injured.

What did the cops say?

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) BBGTS Murthy said that the police had received a report at about 10:30 am. Initial investigations found that the driver was traveling too fast and lost control of the vehicle, resulting in him hitting a divider. 

Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar of the rural police said that the accident happened on Kanpur-Jhansi Highway in the police station of Poonch in the district. Mohammad Umar, who was injured in the car and a friend of Abaan, told reporters that the car was being driven at high speed, which caused the driver to lose control.

What about the family?

Abaan Ahmed was the youngest of Atiq Ahmed's five sons, and twin brother of Ajam. Two of Atiq's five sons, Umar and Ali, are still serving out their sentences in separate jails in Uttar Pradesh. Another son, Asad Ahmed, the main accused and wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, was shot dead by police and the Special Task Force (STF) in an encounter with the cops in Jhansi.
