Rajasthan Weather: Rain Alert Issued for 13 Districts as Monsoon Activity Set to Weaken

Jaipur: A rain advisory has been issued for 13 districts of Rajasthan today. Rainfall up to one inch was observed in some districts, such as Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and Kota. Moderate rains occurred in some parts of Tonk, Bundi, Dausa, Alwar, and Chittorgarh. On the other hand, in western Rajasthan, rain activity has become weak, and temperatures are rising.

What did IMD say?

According to the India Meteorological Department, the weather may change suddenly in some districts. Rain may occur after cloud cover in some areas, while the weather may remain normal in others.

In such circumstances, people have to be cautious, particularly when there is lightning and storm. The maximum temperature was recorded in Sriganganagar at 38.6 degree centigrade. As per Meteorological Department, there can be weakening of the rain in the state from Sunday onwards. Clear weather is expected in most parts of the state on August 17 and 18. However, rain activity is expected to resume again in the districts of eastern Rajasthan from August 19.

How much rain did Rajasthan receive?

The monsoon trough is currently extending through Firozpur, Rohtak, Auraiya, and Sidhi, through the low-pressure area, extending into Jharkhand and further into the Bay of Bengal. This impact is expected to weaken rainfall activity in Rajasthan. The state has received 12 percent less rainfall than normal so far.
