MS Dhoni accused of bias: 'Everyone knows but does not speak.' A former Indian star said, 'If I met him...'

Former cricketer Manoj Tiwari alleged that MS Dhoni did not support him in his career and showed favoritism, as he was dropped from the playing eleven despite good performance. Tiwari says that next time he will definitely ask Dhoni the reason for this.

Sports News: Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has accused legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni of favoritism. Tiwary, who made his debut for India under Dhoni's captaincy in Australia in 2008 and played 12 ODIs and three T20 Internationals, said that he never got any support from Dhoni. Although injuries did not allow Manoj's Indian career to last long, he believes that Dhoni's favoritism towards two other cricketers also played a big role in this.

The last match was played in 2015

Tiwary last played an ODI for India in Zimbabwe in 2015, when Ajinkya Rahane was the captain of the young team while Dhoni and other senior players were resting. After scoring his first century against the West Indies, Tiwary could not make it to the Indian ODI XI. When he returned to the team on the Sri Lanka tour, he received the Player of the Match award for taking four wickets. He also scored a half-century in the next ODI but was again dropped from the team.

When Tiwari was asked about being dropped from the playing 11 after scoring a century, he said, "I will not be able to answer this question." I think only MS Dhoni, Duncan Fletcher, and the selectors will be able to answer this because till now I have not received any answer.

We will ask Dhoni why he dropped out

Tiwari said that the next time he meets Dhoni, he will definitely ask him the reason for not getting more chances. He said that I am not the kind of person who will call the coach, selector, or captain at that time and answer this. But I have also said earlier that whenever I come in front of MS Dhoni, I will definitely ask him what the main reasons were for not giving me a chance after scoring 100 runs.

So till now I have not gotten any clue as to what went wrong or what his thinking was at that time. This is a question that should be asked to those who took this decision and those who were present there at that time and were taking decisions.

What happened to me…

Many members of Team India and later Chennai Super Kings have credited MS Dhoni for backing youngsters and getting the best out of them at the top level. However, Tiwary believes that he cannot be one of them. No, I don't think so. See, reputation and perception are things that people go by. But I am one of them, and there are some other people in the team who have gone through his tenure.

So there are a lot of players who have a different view about the way he supports his players. In my experience, see, I can only share my experience, which has happened to me. If he had really backed his players, he would have definitely backed me because I had done well in that particular match and over time.

I can't speak for the others

This Bengal veteran said that I came back in the playing eleven again; I took four wickets and scored 21 runs in the match against Sri Lanka. In the next match also I scored 65 runs against Sri Lanka. I don't know what happened after that. So I did not get the support I expected.

But it is very difficult to understand why they did not support me because I always felt that performance is the ultimate criterion to make a place in the playing eleven or the team. But this did not happen in my case. I cannot speak for others.

Tiwari Claims Dhoni Disliked Him

Tiwari said that Dhoni did not like him. Everyone likes MS, and obviously, he has proved it with his captaincy over time, as I always say that his leadership abilities were very good. But in my case I don't know. Only he can answer your question. But I think there were some people whom he really liked, and he fully supported them at that time. Many people know, but not everyone comes forward and talks about it. So there is a very deep like and dislike everywhere in cricket. So I agree that I do not like anyone. Maybe he did not like me. This is the only thing I can answer for you.
