After 'Work from Home', now 'Work from Cinema Hall'! Picture of woman working on laptop in theatre goes viral
A Bengaluru woman’s photo working on her laptop inside a cinema hall went viral online. The unusual scene reignited debates over work-life balance, drawing mixed reactions on social media, with some amused and others questioning workplace culture boundaries.

Trending News: Bangalore's work culture: A picture of a woman in Bangalore has created a stir on social media, in which she is seen sitting in a cinema hall working on her laptop. The picture was taken during a recent screening of the Kannada film Lokah and was posted on Reddit, with the caption - The work environment in Blur (Bangalore) is wild! The picture soon went viral and sparked an online debate on Bangalore's corporate culture and work-life balance.
The person posting on Reddit wrote - Only in Bangalore! I went to watch the movie Lokah and a woman in the first row opened her laptop and started working like an office, as if she was sitting in an office and kept writing. Seriously, this is proof of how chaotic the working environment is here, people can't even relax for two hours, the pressure of the office is on them constantly. Work-life balance? What is this?
Mixed reactions on social media
Following the post, social media users' comments section was flooded with mixed reactions. Some users speculated that the woman may have come to watch a movie after escaping from work, but suddenly a meeting came up, which caused her to start working on her laptop. One user wrote - It seems like she must be working with the American team and she didn't mention that she was taking a break from work. If her manager or colleague had seen this, it would have been considered negligence.
Another user said- I think this must be an employee's trick, where she disappeared from work without informing and now can't avoid attending the meeting. However, some users also showed sympathy for the woman. One user wrote- I was working till 3 am yesterday. I really understand this. There is a lot of work and time is short. After canceling so many plans, you realize that you are missing out on friends and experiences and ultimately - life. IT employees should form a union.
Funny comments and uproar on social media
Some users also made fun of the situation. One user wrote - Narayan Murthy can post this picture again as a new company policy. While another wrote - WFH: Work From (Cinema) Hall. Interestingly, this is not the first time such pictures have gone viral. In the last few years, pictures have surfaced in which professionals are seen working on their laptops in cinema halls, weddings or even while cycling. These pictures have always sparked a new debate about work-life balance.
