New Delhi: The discussion regarding visa rules between India and America has once again intensified. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar raised the issue of difficulties faced by Indian travelers in obtaining US visas in his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday. After the bilateral talks held in New Delhi, both the leaders also held a joint press conference. Jaishankar said that people-to-people contact is the most important thing in the relations between India and America and in such a situation, legitimate travelers should not face problems in the visa process.

Did Jaishankar directly raise the issue of visa delay?

During the press conference, Jaishankar clearly said that India cooperates with America in stopping illegal and illegal migration, but it should not affect the legitimate travelers. He said that easy and fast visa process is very important for cooperation between the two countries in business, technology and research sectors. In recent months, there has been increased concern about delays and changes in rules for Indian students and professionals in getting US visas.

Did America say that change is not just for India?

Marco Rubio said in the press conference that America's new immigration policy has not been made just keeping India in mind. He said that these changes are being implemented for the entire world. According to Rubio, America is currently going through the process of modernizing its immigration system and during this time some problems may arise.

Did America call illegal migration a big challenge?

Rubio said that in the last few years a large number of people have entered the US illegally, which has increased the pressure on the immigration system. He said that this problem is not just related to India but is a global challenge. For this reason, the American administration is making major changes in its visa and immigration system.

Can the system become better for Indians in future?

The US Secretary of State expressed hope that when this entire process is over, the new system will be better and more effective than before. He said that students, researchers and professionals of India can also benefit from this. Rubio said America wants qualified people to come there, work and contribute to innovation.

Is there increased concern over H-1B and student visas?

In recent times, the news of changes in H-1B, F1 and J1 visa rules has increased the concern of Indian students and IT professionals. A large number of Indians go to America every year for studies and jobs. In such a situation, any change in the visa process has a direct impact on thousands of Indians.
