New Delhi: The prices of gold in India have witnessed a slight increase due to the rise in demand in international markets and inflationary pressure. The price of precious metal in the country is still affected by the trend of the international market, domestic demand, and fluctuation in currency rate.

Spot gold gained 0.47 per cent to trade at $4,109.90 an ounce and silver climbed 1.84 per cent to trade at $58.92 an ounce in the morning session on Comex. Futures gold for the October contract was trading up by 0.34 percent to trade at Rs 1,43,397 per 10 grams, while the silver futures for the September contract increased by 1.12 percent to trade at Rs 2,19,180 per kilogram.

On Wednesday, the rates of gold and silver have gone up in India. But the rates of silver in the South are somewhat expensive as compared to those in the northern cities. The rate of a kg of silver in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai and Kerala remains constant at Rs 2,45,000. On the other hand, the rate of a kg of silver in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and other northern regions is Rs 2,34,900.
