Chandigarh: A rags to riches story came true for a vegetable seller in Rajasthan. After a Punjab government bumper lottery, his life took a complete turn. The Rs 11 crore lucky winner has been identified as Amit Sehra, who is a vegetable vendor from Kathputli village in Jaipur district, Rajasthan. The lottery winner, Amit reached Chandigarh along with his wife and two kids to collect the prize money. It was just a co-incidence when Amit thought of purchasing the lottery while he was in Bathinda. .

When he purchased the lottery ticket?

Talking to a popular news channel, Amit revealed that he went to Moga with his uncle and took a halt in Bathinda to have tea. His friend Mukesh also accompanied him over there. While having tea, “Mukesh told me he had bought lottery tickets many times but never won. He asked me to try my luck. I borrowed money from him and bought two tickets,” Amit said.

Amit had also promised his friend that if he ever win Rs 11 crore, he would give Rs 1 crore to Mukesh’s daughters. Amit said, “The lottery results were declared on October 31, but I had no idea. Mukesh kept calling me, but my phone wasn’t working. Then he came to my house and told me I had won Rs 11 crore. I thought he was joking. But when we checked the numbers, they all matched.”

Will Amit Rs 1 Crore to his friend?

Amit revealed he had purchased two tickets, one in his name and one in his wife’s name. He further revealed that he and his wife won the lottery tickets. Interestingly, lottery ticket under his wife’s name won Rs 1,000.

Excited by his victory, Amit expressed thanks to the Punjab government and said that he will first give Rs 1 crore to his friend Mukesh. He said, “Mukesh’s daughters are like my own.”

Mukesh revealed, “Amit had promised me that if he ever won the lottery, he would give Rs 1 crore to my daughters, and now he’s keeping his word. Everyone should have a friend like Amit. Our bond is like brothers, and it will remain unbreakable forever.”
