Renowned companies from around the world are lining up to invest in Punjab: CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, while meeting with leading industrialists here today, described the state as one of the best investment destinations in the world.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann's Initiatives: Interacting with representatives of the industry, the Chief Minister described Punjab as a land of immense potential and invited renowned companies to invest in the state. He said that as a rapidly emerging industrial hub of the country, investing in Punjab will bring significant benefits to entrepreneurs. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has an atmosphere of mutual brotherhood, peace, and goodwill, which is a strong foundation for the state's all-round development and prosperity.

The Chief Minister said that electricity is the engine of economic growth, and the Punjab Government, understanding this, is ensuring uninterrupted power supply to all sectors—residential, commercial, and agricultural. He urged corporate representatives to maximize the benefits of the state's robust infrastructure, uninterrupted power generation, skilled human resources, and favorable industrial climate to expand their businesses. Welcoming the industrialists, Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the state government is always open to embracing and listening to new ideas and research to promote industrial development.

The Chief Minister invited industrialists to the sixth edition of the "Progressive Punjab Investors Summit," which will be held in Mohali, Punjab, on March 13, 14, and 15, 2026. During the summit, industrialists, policymakers, and researchers will share their ideas to take Punjab's industrial sector to new heights. He emphasized that the expertise and vision of the industry are crucial in shaping Punjab's future. This summit will provide an ideal platform to showcase Punjab's potential, explore opportunities for collaboration, and network. The Chief Minister emphasized that by uniting together, we can create a sustainable and globally competitive industrial environment in Punjab, for which mutual partnership, trust, and commitment are essential.

While meeting with industry leaders here today, the Chief Minister said that Punjab has always been known for its industrious and entrepreneurial spirit and rich heritage. He added that Punjab boasts of being India's "granary," contributing the largest share to the country's food production. He pointed out that Punjab's industrial sector has witnessed remarkable transformation and progress over the past three years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has emerged as an industrial hub, leading in food processing, textiles, auto parts, hand tools, bicycles, IT, tourism, and other sectors.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab's industrial progress has truly made its mark globally, as investors from around the world have recognized Punjab's potential. He pointed out that since March 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals worth Rs 1.23 lakh crore, which is expected to create over 4.7 lakh jobs. This achievement has established Punjab as an emerging hub for industrial development and innovation. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of pride and satisfaction that Punjab is home to several multinational companies such as Nestlé, Claasen, Freudenberg, Cargill, Verbio, and Danone, which are contributing significantly to the state's economic progress through their operations here.

The Chief Minister said that these international companies have acknowledged Punjab's immense business potential and the favorable environment provided by the state government. He pointed out that investments from Japan, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Switzerland, France, Spain, and other countries reflect Punjab's global reach. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is just the beginning, as Punjab has now become a preferred destination not only for Indian but also for foreign investors.

The Chief Minister said that since assuming office, he has created an investment-friendly environment that encourages ease of doing business. Due to the state government's industry-friendly policies, Punjab is now among the leading states in terms of ease of doing business. He informed that the Punjab Government has launched the "FastTrack Punjab Portal," India's most advanced single-window system. The portal provides over 150 government-to-business (G2B) services with a single entry and exit. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the government has eliminated the requirement for offline applications and, under the "Punjab Right to Business Act," eligible projects up to Rs 125 crore are granted in-principle approval in just five days.

The Chief Minister further stated that Punjab was the first state to implement major regulatory reforms, including time-bound clearances within 45 days, deemed approvals, escalation mechanisms, and increased validity periods for key licenses. He explained that investor support through WhatsApp alerts, AI chatbots, and call centers ensure real-time accountability. Additionally, measures such as digital CRO reports, extended validity of fire NOCs, and leasehold to freehold conversions are further simplifying processes.

The Chief Minister stated that partnership between government and industry is the key to success, and the state government firmly believes that industrial development is possible only when both act as equal partners. He explained that this principle guides the new Industrial Policy presented in 2022. This policy has been formulated based on suggestions from industry experts and stakeholders to meet their needs and aspirations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has now constituted 24 sectoral committees headed by industry leaders to formulate policies tailored to specific sectors.

The Chief Minister assured industrialists that the state government is fully committed to building partnerships with industries and businesses based on equality, transparency, and mutual cooperation. He stated that the government is committed to smoothing and facilitating the business journey of entrepreneurs. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed hope that the industry will extend maximum support to the state government, further accelerating the pace of industrialization in Punjab.

The Chief Minister invited members of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) to participate in the CXO Forum to discuss Punjab's emerging industrial landscape and opportunities in the electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, and defense manufacturing sectors. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to build a semiconductor and electronics ecosystem in Punjab, leveraging Mohali's strong academic and research environment. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that with its skilled manpower and favorable infrastructure, Punjab can play a key role in developing passive components and design-engineering capabilities. He also stressed the need to increase Punjab's participation in the national defence manufacturing value chain.
