Glasgow: It was a good start for India on the second day of Commonwealth Games 2026. Para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar opened India's account in Glasgow and won the bronze medal. Apart from this, Indian players also performed well in boxing, swimming and lawn bowls. Medals were lost in some competitions, but many players are keeping their medal hopes alive by reaching the next round.

India got its first success in para powerlifting. In the men's heavyweight category, Jhandu Kumar performed brilliantly and won the bronze medal. He successfully lifted the weight of 181 kg and 190 kg. However, his last attempt of 196 kg could not be achieved.
