Parliament March Back On: CJP To Resume Protest Today, Says Abhijeet Dipke

New Delhi: The ongoing protest in New Delhi demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will continue on Tuesday. Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke announced late on Monday night that the protesters would not back down from their plan to march towards Parliament and the protest at Jantar Mantar would continue.

After the clashes on Monday, the protesters again reached Jantar Mantar, where they prepared temporary tents and stages and resumed their agitation. Earlier, information about the removal of the stage present there by the police had come to light.

What did Abhijit Dipke say?

Addressing the protesters, Abhijit Dipke said that their agitation will continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post. He made it clear that the protesters will not leave Jantar Mantar and will again march towards Parliament on Tuesday.

This movement has been going on at Jantar Mantar since June 6. The movement started over issues related to the education system. During this time, educationist and social worker Sonam Wangchuk was also sitting on an indefinite hunger strike. Later he was taken into custody and sent to Safdarjung Hospital.

When will the next steps be announced?

Party leaders say that the strategy of the movement is being discussed continuously. An official statement will soon be issued giving information about further action. They say that the protests will not end until the demands are met.

Was there a clash during the Parliament march on the first day?

Thousands of protesters joined the "Sansad Chalo" march on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament. There was a clash between the protesters and the police when they reached Parliament. As the situation worsened, the police resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. During this period,  news of many people getting injured came to light. Police claim that more than 100 of its soldiers have also been injured in this clash.

Does security increase at Jantar Mantar?

A large number of protesters remained standing at Jantar Mantar till late Monday night. Heavy police force was also deployed on the spot. Officials say that if another attempt is made to march to Parliament on Tuesday, security arrangements will remain as tight as before and barricades will be installed again.

Do police engage in the investigation of violence?

Delhi Police has started investigating the entire incident. CCTV footage and mobile video are being scrutinised. Officials say it is also being investigated whether the violence was part of some larger conspiracy. The process of registering several FIRs in relation to the incident is also going on.

Do talks begin between government and protesters?

The government has also opened the way for talks amid protests. On Monday, CJP representatives held two rounds of meetings with Union Health Minister JP Nadda. In the first meeting they were asked to give their demands in writing. After this, the delegation met again and submitted its memorandum to the government, in which three major demands were made.

Now everyone's eyes are fixed on Tuesday. The protesters are preparing to march towards the Parliament again, while the administration has made elaborate security arrangements. In such a situation, there is a possibility of a tense situation once again in the capital.
