Mortal remains of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, who tragically lost his life in the LCA Tejas aircraft crash during the Dubai Air Show, was brought to the Air Force Station.

Coimbatore: Mortal remains of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, who tragically lost his life in the LCA Tejas aircraft crash during the Dubai Air Show, was brought to the Air Force Station, Sulur in Coimbatore on Sunday morning.

It is to be noted here that the mortal remains of the Indian Air Force (IAF) officer were brought to India on a special aircraft. Wing Commander Namansh Syal was accorded with a ceremonial guard of honour for his bravery and service by the Emirati Defence Forces.

After the unfortunate Tejas aircraft crash, the Indian Air Force confirmed Wing Commander's demise. It is to be noted that the aircraft burst into flames during the Dubai Air Show 2025. On Saturday, Indian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Deepak Mittal and Consulate General Satish Sivan paid their homage to Wing Commander Namansh Syal.

An official post on X by the Indian Embassy in the UAE read, "Ambassador Deepak Mittal and CG Satish Sivan paid their respects to Late Wing Commander Namansh Syal. A special IAF aircraft transported his mortal remains back to India. The Emirati Defence Forces honoured the Indian braveheart with a ceremonial guard of honour."

How the locals reacted to the Wing Commander Namansh Syal's demise?

A a villager, Mehar Chand, told ANI, "All of us are very sad to know about this accident. People are going to his house to show solidarity and express grief. The family is not here, but the extended family members are here. He was a brilliant child, and we are proud of him."

Meanwhile, another resident, Madan, said, "We cannot accept that someone so full of life and courage is no longer with us. The entire village is sad and shattered."

After the Tejas aircraft crash, the IAF stated that a court of inquiry is being constituted to investigate the cause of the accident in which the pilot succumbed to fatal injuries.
