IMD Issues Rain, Thunderstorm Alert For 17 States; Monsoon To Arrive In 2-3 Days

Monsoon is about to hit Kerala, Lakshadweep and parts of Tamil Nadu. After this, rainy season will start in South and northeast.

New Delhi: IMD has made it clear that monsoon is reaching Kerala in the next two to three days. But before that, storms, hail and torrential rains are going to wreak havoc in 17 states of the country. This means that the heat will definitely go away, but after enduring a stormy week.

When will the monsoon reach Kerala? 

Monsoon is about to hit Kerala, Lakshadweep and parts of Tamil Nadu. After this, rainy season will start in South and northeast. However, every year monsoon reaches Kerala by 1st June. This time IMD had given the date of 26th May. El Nino slowed down the pace. Now the system has been formed and the monsoon has advanced. People of Delhi-NCR should pay attention, there is good news. 

It will be cloudy from 1st to 5th June, there will also be light rain. But be careful on June 3 and 4. The storm can blow at a speed of 50 to 70 kilometres per hour. Same situation will prevail in Haryana and Punjab also.

What will happen in UP, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand? 

There will be a strong storm in West UP on 3-4 June, there will be rain on 2 and 5 June. The weather will remain bad in Uttarakhand till June 6. There will be strong winds in Rajasthan on June 2, then there will be isolated rain from June 3 to 5. There may be hailstorm along with storm in Jammu and Kashmir between June 3 and 5.

What are the condition of MP, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat? 
There will be heavy rain in West MP on 2-3 June. It will rain intermittently in East MP until June 5. There will be rain and thundershowers in Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha from June 2 to 5. Gujarat will also be drenched till June 4.

How much water will fall in the South? 

There will be very heavy rain in some places in Kerala and Mahe between June 3 and 7. There will be thunderstorms throughout the week in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There is an alert of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh on June 2. Light to moderate rain will continue in Telangana till June 5.

What is the alert in Bihar, Bengal, North-East? 

There will be strong wind along with rain in Bihar on 5-6 June. There are chances of thunderstorms throughout the week in Jharkhand. There will be heavy rain in Bengal and Sikkim from June 4 to 6. In Odisha, wind will blow at a speed of 70 on June 2, there is a warning of heavy rain from June 3 to 5. 

Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya will receive continuous rain from June 1 to 7. The situation will worsen between June 4 and 7. There will be heavy rain in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on June 6-7.

If you leave home in the next few days, check the weather. If a storm comes, stay away from trees and electric poles. Monsoon is coming, but first we have to get through this stormy week.
