Major Attack In Balochistan: BLA Claims 45 Pakistani Soldiers Dead

Islamabad: The security situation in Balochistan is once again in the headlines. The banned organisation Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its fighters launched a major attack on a convoy of Pakistani security forces in the Khadakchah area of the Mastung district. The organisation says that more than 45 Pakistani soldiers were killed and many others were injured in this action.

BLA spokesperson Ziand Baloch issued a statement and took responsibility for the attack. According to the statement, this operation was carried out by the organisation’s special squad, “Fatah Squad”. The BLA claims that the targets of the attack were buses carrying soldiers. The security vehicles travelling with these buses were also targeted. When additional soldiers reached the spot after receiving news of the attack, they were also surrounded and attacked. The organisation said that this attack was carried out in a very thoughtful and planned manner.

How long did the encounter last?

According to BLA, after the attack, firing continued from both sides for a long time. The organisation says that the Pakistani Army suffered heavy losses during this period. BLA also said that the death toll could rise further as many soldiers were seriously injured.
