When will CBSE start this process?
CBSE will commence the process of online answer sheet verification, photocopying, and re-evaluation from May 19. According to the official notice issued by CBSE, this answer sheet photocopy registration process will continue till May 22.
What did the official say?
While addressing concern, CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj speaking to ANI, said that, "We evaluate approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts; there is a possibility that an error may occur somewhere. To rectify such errors, we offer certain facilities to our students."
"The CBSE is an institution that works in the best interest of the students, and we operate with complete transparency," he said.
While sharing about the details about the re-checking process, Bhardwaj said that, "The window to request these answer scripts will open on the 19th, and students may apply for them until the 22nd.”
"If they identify any errors, they should make a note of them," he added.
What is the complete schedule for verification and re-evaluation?
CBSE stated in its notice that it will conduct this entire process online. Furthermore, it will not accept any student requests after the specified time period. Students can refer to the table below for all the details of this process.
The CBSE re-checking process primarily involves three steps. Students cannot proceed directly to the re-evaluation process.
Verification of Marks
In this step, the board simply checks whether all the marks in your answer sheet have been added correctly. It also checks if any answers have been left unchecked.
Getting a photocopy of the answer sheet
If students are still not satisfied after verification, they can order a scanned digital copy of their checked answer sheet online. Students can also check their marks for each question themselves.
Re-evaluation process
After seeing the photocopy, if the student feels that despite the answer to a particular question being correct, he/she has not got the correct marks as per the marking scheme, then he/she can challenge for re-evaluation of that particular question only.
