Bihar Election 2025 Date: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar made some important announcement during the press meet today in Patna on Sunday. During the press briefing, he announced that there will be a few phases in the poll schedule in order to ensure proper efficiency of the election in Bihar.

Gyanesh Kumar also praised people of Bihar for successful SIR and stated that election will conclude before November 22.

Ahead of the Bihar Assembly election 2025, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a three-hour review meeting at the party office in Bihar. Notably, the meeting was attended by election in-charge and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and all 18 members. During the meeting focus was on discussing the 60 “sitting seats” that the party has in the state.

Earlier, in his statement to ANI, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal, said, “The performance of our current MLAs and potential candidates who want to contest from there was also discussed. There was a discussion on giving special priority to women and youth.”

What Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said during EC press conference?

During the press conference, the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said that the elections will be held before November 22. He said, "There are 243 general constituencies in Bihar. Elections will be conducted before November 22. The entire team of the Election Commission is present in Bihar for two days. Election Commission officials held meetings with the Bihar police administration, heads of enforcement agencies, and nodal officers."

Gyanesh Kumar said, "...When the ballot paper is inserted into the EVM, the photo on it is black and white, making it difficult to identify, even though the election symbol remains. It was also suggested that the serial number should be larger. So, starting with the Bihar elections, the serial number font will be larger across the country, and the candidates' photographs will be colour photographs."

He also urged all the voters of Bihar to cast their vote and celebrate the election day just like they celebrate the Chhath Puja festival. He said, "We congratulate the voters of India. Thank you to everyone for the successful SIR process. I appeal to all the voters of Bihar to celebrate this festival of democracy with the same enthusiasm as you celebrate Chhath. Everyone should vote and ensure their participation."
