Amarnath Yatra Bus Accident In J&K: 39 Devotees Injured, All Hospitalised

Srinagar: A bus carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims met with an accident in the Kangan area of Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday morning after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The mishap left 39 devotees injured, though no deaths have been reported. Rescue teams quickly shifted the injured to hospitals, where they are undergoing treatment. Authorities responded immediately after receiving information about the crash, ordering a thorough investigation and instructing officials to provide all necessary assistance and medical care to the victims.

How did the accident happen?

According to the information received, the bus returning after completing the Amarnath Yatra went out of control at a sharp turn in the Ganiwan area. It is being told that the driver lost control of the vehicle. After this, the bus slipped off the road and collided with a nearby house. The collision was so strong that the house was damaged, but this house also proved helpful in saving the bus from falling into a deep ditch and the Sindh River.

How is the condition of the injured?

According to officers, most of the injured have suffered minor injuries. After the accident, everyone was first taken to the local hospital. Then the devotees in critical condition were shifted to SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar. Everyone is being treated under the supervision of doctors. The condition of most of them is now said to be stable.

Instructions were given to the health department that all the injured devotees should get the best treatment and there should be no shortage of treatment. The administration is in constant touch with hospitals and district authorities.

What will be the focus of the investigation?

At present, it seems that the driver has lost control. But along with this, technical fault in the bus, road conditions, and other possible reasons will also be investigated. Further action will be taken after the report comes. Security has been increased on the Yatra route. After the accident, the administration has asked the officers deployed on the Amarnath Yatra route to be more alert. Drivers have been implored to drive carefully and follow the prescribed speed limit.
