'Feeling Fine': Sonam Wangchuk Requests Hospital to Let Him Join CJP Parliament March
Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently in Safdarjung Hospital, has submitted a letter to the hospital administration requesting his immediate discharge, stating that his health is now fine.
New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, on Monday has written to the hospital administration, stating thae 'he is feeling very fine' and has requested the hospital to allow him to leave temporarily so he could join the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) 'Chalo Sansad' march to Parliament.
What did Sonam Wangchuk say?
In a letter to Safdarjung Hospital, Sonam Wangchuk told the hospital administration, "This is to state that I am feeling very fine today and my health parameters are also showing as quite normal. Hence I request you to kindly allow me to leave the hospital, even if temporarily, so that I can join the March to the Parliament - Sansad Chalo - this morning."
The activist's team shared the copy of Wangchuk's handwritten letter on X, and wrote, "Sonam Wangchuk is trying hard to see you all! Just submitted a letter to the hospital as his health is good and they claim he is not in detention. So why the restrictions?"

What did the hospital say?
Earlier, Safdarjung Hospital issued a health bulletin at 10 am on Monday, stating, "Sonam Wangchuk is receiving comprehensive medical care at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital. His vital parameters are stable. Close clinical monitoring of blood parameters is required. Wangchuk remains under constant medical supervision and close monitoring by a multi-disciplinary team of experts."
"Based on the clinical assessment by the treating teams at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS, New Delhi , continuous medical intervention and uninterrupted clinical monitoring are essential to ensure early detection of any potential complications and timely treatment. He is receiving all necessary medical care and a multi-disciplinary team of specialists is closely monitoring his clinical condition," the hospital bulletin said.

What is the reason of protest?
Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly taken to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police on Saturday, the 21st day of his hunger strike. He has been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28 in support of the Cockroach Janata Party-led protest, whose main demand is accountability in the education system. This includes the paper leaks of various exams, including NEET, the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over exam irregularities, and the government's accountability on student issues.
