She had predicted that a conflict would begin in 2010 with the Arab Spring, leading to events in Syria, where “Muslims would use chemical warfare against Europeans.” She further foresaw that by 2043, a Caliph would be seated in the heart of Rome. It is believed that Vanga’s reference was to the rise of Islamic State terror.

It is to be noted here that Baba Vanga was a woman. She was known as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans.” Baba Vanga’s real name was Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova. She was born in 1911 in North Macedonia. At the age of 12, she lost her eyesight due to a tornado. Her followers believe that after this incident, she gained the power to foresee the future. Before she even turned 30, she had become famous for her prophecies and healing abilities. Her reputation grew so much that not only ordinary people but also prominent figures like King Boris III of Bulgaria and Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev used to visit her for advice.
