Holi and Bollywood have long shared a vibrant relationship. Over decades, film industry has given some of the most iconic and modern Holi tracks to the people.

Bollywood has repeatedly used Holi as a cinematic canvas, from classic old to modern romance and high-energy dance numbers.

Over the years, several songs have become inseparable from Holi celebrations, that  echo across streets, homes.

Rang Barse: Old but still a Holi anthem

No ones Holi playlist is complete without 'Rang Barse' song from the film 'Silsila' that starred Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. The song, which is sung by BigB himself, blends folk authenticity with cinematic drama. This one of the popular track is written by Amitabh's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan for the romance drama which was released in 1981.

Holi Ke Din: Still carries the nostalgia

This celebratory Holi track 'Holi Ke Din' from the film 'Sholay', which featured Dharmendra as Veeru and Hema Malini as Basanti, still delight viewers with their irreplaceable chemistry. The song captures the communal joy of Holi before the narrative takes a darker turn. The song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, and R.D. Burman. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan, among others.

Holi khele Raghuveera: Family vibe track

An iconic Bollywood Holi song 'Hori Khele Raghuveera' is from the 2003 film 'Baghban'. The song always hits a family-oriented vibe, festive energy and  portrays traditions. The track, which  uses Braj Bhasha and Awadhi dialects, is sung by Amitabh Bachchan, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Sukhwinder Singh

Balam Pichkari: Modern and all time favourite 

'Balam Pichkari' from the film 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is a modern track,  which has redefined the Holi song list for a new generation. The song features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone leading the festivities, while delivering youthful exuberance and infectious energy.

Lahu Munh Lag Gaya: A little too much 

'Lahu Munh Lag Gaya' from the film 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela' is known as one of the most intense romantic Holi song till date. The song is sung by Shail Hada and features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in a Navratri setting filled with colour and passion. The track is actually not for Holi but the chemistry between the two makes it deep love and longing. 

Soni Soni Akhiyon Wali: Sweet and romantic song

'Soni Soni Akhiyon Wali' from the film  Mohabbatein is a youthful and vibrant  song. The song, which is full of colour and fresh energy, features Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai along with the young star cast. One of the most loved Holi anthem is sung by Udit Narayan, Jaspinder Narula and others, and composed by Jatin-Lalit.
