Shatrughan Sinha Declares End Of Bollywood Star Power, Cites Struggles Facing Actors, Technicians And Entire Industry
Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has voiced strong concerns about the declining state of Bollywood. He said star power is no longer working, the industry faces a slowdown, and actors along with technicians are forced to cut fees.

Entertainment News: Shatrughan Sinha On Bollywood: Actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has recently expressed concern over the condition of the film industry. He said that Bollywood is being treated like a 'step child'. Actually, this was first said by Shatrughan Sinha's brother-in-law and film producer Pahlaj Nihalani and Shatrughan Sinha also seemed to agree with this. Supporting the words of Pahlaj Nihalani, he said that today Bollywood is going through its worst phase.
Shatrughan Sinha recalled how a few years ago he and Pahlaj Nihalani had played an important role in getting the film industry its rightful status. He said, "Pahlaj ji used to meet me every day. We were worried about the condition of the film industry. We had gone to the then Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, who later called Sushma Swaraj and explained our situation."
Tough days for the film industry
According to Sinha, now only big stars are called for their work, but no one pays attention to the technicians working behind the film or the poor condition of this industry. Today, the prices of movie tickets and food items in theaters are so high that it has become difficult for the common audience to go to the cinema. He further said, "The film industry has become like a neglected child. I agree with Pahlaj ji 100 percent."
Why is 'star power' ending?
Shatrughan Sinha has also talked about the continuous flops of Hindi films. He said that we are all happy with the success of South Indian cinema, but the condition of Hindi films is such that in the last 10 years, only a few films have been successful. This is directly affecting the producers and technicians. Sinha believes that because of this, the stars who once demanded very high fees are now having to reduce their fees. He says that today star power is almost over.
Bollywood Star Power Faces Sharp Decline
He said that the government, society and the film industry itself are responsible for this situation. He said that the TRP of TV shows with big stars is also falling, which makes it clear that now the audience does not come just on the name of the stars. The result of this is that the fees of technicians and other artists have decreased drastically.
