Directed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), this initiative shifts service-related records of government employees to the e-HRMS 2.0 portal. The move aims to replace cumbersome paper-based systems, ensuring greater transparency, accountability, and streamlined operations in India’s vast bureaucratic framework.

The e-Service Book, integrated into the e-HRMS 2.0 portal, will digitally record critical employee data, including service history, promotions, transfers, and leave details. Declared the official record, this digital system eliminates reliance on physical files prone to loss or damage. The portal’s centralized database allows real-time access for authorized personnel, reducing delays in retrieving information and enabling faster decision-making across ministries, from finance to defense.
