Amit Shah made a big statement about Sudarshan Reddy, 'A Naxal supporter was made the Vice Presidential candidate!'

Amit Shah attacked the Congress by calling opposition candidate Sudarshan Reddy a Naxal supporter. He said that if Reddy's decision on Salwa Judum had not been taken, Naxalism would have ended by 2020.

National News: There has been a lot of commotion in the country's politics regarding the election of the Vice President. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made serious allegations against Sudarshan Reddy, the candidate declared by the India Alliance. He attacked the Congress and said that they have made a person the candidate who has been a supporter of left wing extremists.

Shah said that it would be wrong to look at this election from the perspective of "South vs South". He said that "the country's Vice President can be elected from any state. It is not right to look at it as a competition only within South India."

Damage to the process of ending Naxalism

Amit Shah attacked the Congress and said that this decision will end the remaining chances of Congress in Kerala. He reminded that Justice Reddy is the same person who gave a historic decision in the Supreme Court against Salwa Judum, which harmed the process of ending Naxalism.

Shah alleged that if that decision had not been taken, Naxalism would have been eradicated from the country by 2020. He said, "These are the same gentlemen who gave the decision inspired by ideology and used a sacred platform like the Supreme Court."

Sudarshan Reddy’s Supreme Court Verdict

In a landmark judgement in December 2011, Justice Sudarshan Reddy had said that recruiting tribal youths as Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the fight against Maoist insurgents, whether they are called Koya Commandos, Salwa Judum or by any other name, is unconstitutional and illegal. Doing so is not only unconstitutional but also against the basic principles of justice. He had also ordered the disarming and deactivation of SPOs.

Describing this decision as promoting Naxalism, Shah questioned the Congress on what basis it was fielding such a person for the post of Vice President. He said that the people of Kerala will definitely answer this.
