New Delhi: Xiaomi has introduced a new player in India's most competitive segment. The company has launched Redmi A7 Pro 5G, applying Pro tag for the first time in its budget A-series. The starting price has been kept at Rs 11,499 (4GB 64GB) and Rs 12,499 (4GB 128GB). The specialty of this phone which comes in three colors is its huge battery, large display and amazing software guarantee.
Is the display the best in this range?
Redmi A7 Pro 5G features a 6.9-inch HD IPS LCD display which comes with 120Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness. TÜV Rhineland certification and DC dimming help reduce eye strain. However, the resolution is limited to 720p, which is a common weakness of large screens at this price. Still, the scrolling and video watching experience will be better thanks to 120Hz.
How useful will a bigger battery be?
The biggest highlight of this phone is its 6,300mAh battery, which Xiaomi has designed to stay healthy for up to four years. Along with 15W wired charging, the option of 7.5W reverse wired charging is also available.
Which processor is in the phone?
The phone has Unisoc T8300 processor which is made on 6nm process and gives speed up to 2.2GHz. This chip isn't as well-known as MediaTek or Qualcomm, but its stats are fine on paper. LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage are also available. Talking about the camera, there is a 32MP dual camera setup at the back and 8MP selfie camera at the front.
For how many years will updates be available?
The phone runs HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. Digit and Xiaomi have promised four major OS updates and six years of security updates. This promise is really extraordinary at this price, considering most competing phones barely offer even a single major update. Features like Circle to Search and Google Gemini are available separately. This guarantee is what makes the Redmi A7 Pro 5G stand out from the crowd in the long run.
Should buyers purchase this phone or wait?
In terms of battery and software support, this phone looks strong in its range. But the complete picture cannot be formed without testing the actual performance of the Unisoc chip and the quality of the camera in hands. Three months no-cost EMI is also available in the launch offer of MobiGyaan, which is a relief for buyers. For users who want to run the phone for a long time in a low budget, this option is worth considering.
