Tech News: Apple is now going to further expand its retail network in India. By the end of 2025, the company is preparing to open Apple Stores in many new cities of the country. This step will further strengthen the company's hold and brand experience in a rapidly emerging market like India. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed this during the company's recent earnings call.
Tim Cook said that India is now one of the major markets where Apple is getting great opportunities to reach and connect with new customers. He says that physical retail stores are playing an important role in this effort so that customers can experience the products directly.
Apple Plans New Stores In India, UAE
Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an earnings call on Thursday, "We recently launched the Apple Store Online in Saudi Arabia, and we are very excited about opening new stores in the UAE and India later this year." He said that the company has also received a great response from the opening of the new store in Osaka, Japan.
Where can new Apple Stores open?
Although Tim Cook did not disclose the exact date or locations for Apple’s upcoming retail stores in India, a May 2025 report suggests that the company is planning to launch outlets in four major cities—Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Noida. The proposed sites include Sky City Mall in Borivali, Mumbai; Phoenix Mall of Asia in Yelahanka, Bengaluru; Kopa Mall in Pune; and DLF Mall of India in Noida.
The report also mentions that Apple has already begun the recruitment process for staff at these locations over the past few months, indicating that preparations for the launches are well underway.
Apple's retail presence in India so far
Apple opened its first retail store in India in April 2023 at Apple BKC in Mumbai, and the second was launched a few days later in Delhi's Select Citywalk Mall under the name Apple Saket. Both these stores are designed to give customers a premium brand experience.
Apple's growth is increasing rapidly
According to Apple's third quarter report, the company has recorded a revenue of $94.04 billion (about ₹8.22 lakh crores), which is 10% more than the same period last year. iPhone sales have seen a sharp growth of 13% year-on-year. Apart from this, Mac sales have grown by 15%, and subscription services have grown by 13%.
