War on Crime: Punjab CM Mann Restores Peace and Hope in the State

Chandigarh: When the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power in Punjab under Bhagwant Mann, the biggest challenge before it was organized crime and the spread of drugs. Because of weak policies of earlier governments, these problems had grown badly and threatened the future of Punjab’s youth. What Steps Were Taken Against Drugs?

Drugs had become a serious curse for Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared a “war against drugs” to end this menace. Punjab Police launched large-scale operations and arrested thousands of drug smugglers. For the first time, the government even demolished illegal properties of some well-known drug dealers. These strong actions created fear among criminals and sent a clear message that drug trade would not be tolerated in Punjab anymore. The AGTF also achieved great success in breaking links between gangsters and terrorists. Police recovered large amounts of weapons and explosives like RDX, IEDs, and hand grenades, and exposed several smuggling operations using drones. This became a major win for Punjab’s internal security, weakening the plans of anti-national forces.

How Was Corruption Controlled?

Fighting corruption was also seen as an important part of improving law and order. Chief Minister Mann launched the Anti-Corruption Action Line (9501200200), which helped reduce bribery in government departments. The CM also took bold action against ministers and officers from his own party when corruption complaints arose. This sent out a strong message that the law would treat everyone equally. The government also worked to modernize Punjab Police. New officers were recruited, and new units like the Road Safety Force were formed. The Chief Minister made sure responsibility was fixed by clearly instructing that if law and order worsens in any district, both the SSP and DC will be held personally accountable.
