Aligarh: A young woman from Delhi has accused a Muslim man from Aligarh of concealing his religion, marrying her under pretenses, and later subjecting her to mental and physical harassment. The victim claimed that the man introduced himself as Rahul, but his real name is Ansar Ali.

What is the case?

A woman alleged that a Muslim man from Aligarh married a young woman from Delhi and then harassed her mentally and physically. The victim stated that the man who approached her as Rahul but his actual name is Ansar Ali.

The woman has demanded police action, leveling serious allegations of triple talaq, pressure for halala, and plotting to sell her. According to the victim, the accused introduced himself as Rahul, befriended her, and kept her with him, promising marriage. When the woman pressured him to marry her, the accused married her in a temple.

What are the allegations?

Later, the woman learned that the man had concealed his true identity. Even after the truth was revealed, the accused pressured her into marriage. After the marriage, he began harassing her. He later gave her triple talaq and is now pressuring her to have relationships with other men in the name of halala. 

The woman alleged that the accused injected her with narcotics and raped her while she was unconscious. Furthermore, she was held captive for several months to prevent her from communicating with anyone. The woman claimed that she even overheard the accused discussing about selling her to another man on the phone.

Did the woman file a complaint?

The victim initially filed a complaint at the Rorawar police station. After the jurisdiction was clarified, the case was transferred to the Quarsi police station. CO Sarvam Singh stated that the case is not from Aligarh district, but from the Jahangirpuri area of  Delhi. The two met there. Full information is being gathered from the woman. Action will be taken based on the evidence.
