Sant Kabir Nagar: An incident similar to the Surya Chauhan murder case in Ghaziabad has emerged from Sant Kabir Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. A Hindu youth was brutally murdered on Thursday night after he resisted molestation. This shocking incident sparked tension in the area. Enraged family members and villagers protested for hours by placing the body on the road.

After considerable effort, police took custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The accused is absconding after committing the crime. Police are conducting raids to search for him. The deceased has been identified as Anand (30), son of Indresh Kolki of Chamarsan village.

What did the mob do?
Following the incident, an angry mob gathered at the site, setting fire to nearby shops and the accused's house, demanding immediate justice.
Given the tension in the area, a heavy police force from three districts was deployed. Upon receiving the information, ADG Ashok Mutha Jain, DIG Sanjeev Tyagi, SP Sandeep Kumar Meena, and District Magistrate Alok Kumar also arrived at the scene.
The protesting family members remained adamant on demanding an encounter for the accused. However, officials calmed the family and villagers by assuring them of strict action. Late that night, a case has been registered and they are searching for the accused.
What is the reason of murder?
The motive for the murder is said to be an incident of molestation that occurred at a wedding a few days ago. According to reports, the accused, Nasir, had molested the deceased's niece, and Anand had objected to this. According to sources, Nasir allegedly misbehaved with a member of Anand's family, prompting Anand to slap him. Seeking revenge, Nasir, along with three associates, cornered Anand at the intersection and slit his throat with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.
The deceased's wife, Meena, said, "We want life for life, nothing more." The accused fled the scene after the incident. The family has demanded an encounter for the accused. However, some people have also attributed the murder to an old dispute between the two.
What did the police say?
Seeing the tension, police officials arrived at the scene and assured the angry family members and villagers of strict action against the accused. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Meena stated that Nasir brutally murdered Anand by slitting his throat at the Babhani intersection in the Bakhira police station area. The two had a dispute at a wedding a few days earlier. Police are investigating the matter and will take strict action against the accused.
