Delhi Police Drops Proceedings Against Minor Who Abused PM Modi: Sources
According to Delhi police sources, a zero FIR was transferred by the Noida Police last week, however, it has not yet been converted into a regular FIR in the national capital.
New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday said that no regular First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the 15-year-old girl who recently hurled allegedly abusive remarks at Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jantar Mantar, according to sources.
What did the Delhi Police say?
According to Delhi police sources, a zero FIR was transferred by the Noida Police last week, however, it has not yet been converted into a regular FIR in the national capital.
"No regular FIR has been registered by Delhi Police so far in connection with the alleged abusive remarks by the minor girl against the Prime Minister. A decision on a regular FIR is yet to be taken in the background of the claim of the minor. A Zero FIR was forwarded by Noida Police last week, but it is yet to be converted into a regular FIR in Delhi. Therefore, the question of withdrawal does not arise at this stage," as per the news agency ANI, citing senior Delhi Police souces.

Noida Police had registered a zero FIR against the woman in this case, and the case was transferred to the Parliament Street police station last Saturday. The Parliament Street police station has declined to file a case.
What did the girl say?
The minor girl herself released a video addressing the matter. In the video, she clarified, "I am only 15 years old. Whatever I did was not worthy of forgiveness. I have said a lot of bad things. This is my first and last mistake. I apologise to the entire country. I am so ashamed. I can't even look at myself. Please forgive me." She claimed that she had been influenced by others at the protest site to say these things.
What did PM Modi say?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the incident. In an Instagram reel, he said he forgave the "misguided children" involved in the protests.
The Prime Minister stated, "Punishing them and dragging them through courts and harassing them will not change the circumstances. I want to forgive them. I request society also to accept what I am saying."
He also stated that abuse never solves any problems and that society should guide such young people, not seek revenge. The case, which has been a topic of discussion on social media, is now considered closed, both legally and, according to the Prime Minister, personally.
