Bhopal: The case regarding the death of actress Twisha Sharma continues to dominate the headlines. Twisha's family members have leveled serious allegations against the accused and their supporters. They have asserted that efforts are underway to shield Samarth at any cost.
What did Twisha's brother-in-law say?
Speaking to the media, Twisha's brother-in-law, Saurabh Sharma, stated that the commotion witnessed at the Jabalpur district court on Friday during the surrender of accused husband Samarth Singh was the culmination of an atmosphere of uncertainty that had been brewing for several days.
"Samarth, his mother, and their supporters are attempting to protect him by any means necessary," Saurabh Sharma, who was personally present in Jabalpur said. He observed that no one was being permitted to meet Samarth within the court premises. He claimed that the room was kept locked, and Samarth was sitting inside at ease, while the police presence on site appeared inadequate.
Saurabh Sharma raised a pertinent question, "How did an individual with a bounty declared on his head manage to evade the police and reach the court? Samarth ought to have surrendered at the police station; his direct arrival at the court raises a multitude of questions."
What did Twisha's cousin say?
Twisha's cousin, Ashish Sharma, remarked that the action taken in this entire matter was significantly delayed. He noted that the judiciary has recently delivered several key rulings, and approval for a second post-mortem examination has also been granted.
Ashish Sharma expressed hope that the CBI would soon initiate proceedings in this case. He pointed out that the accused sat comfortably in the court for hours, and journalists were even manhandled there—actions that appeared to be a deliberate attempt to create an atmosphere of intimidation. Twisha's uncle, Okesh Sharma, alleged that the events transpiring in the court were not merely a chaotic disturbance, but rather a blatant display of power. The supporters of the accused even went so far as to threaten the family's lawyer.
He further alleged that this is a family with a criminal background, and those supporting them possess a "mafia-like" mentality. Twisha's sister, Swati Sharma, demanded that the CBI investigation be concluded expeditiously and that the case be tried in a fast-track court. She emphasized that such cases often drag on for years; therefore, the swift arrest of the accused and a speedy trial are imperative to ensure that the victim's family receives justice without delay.
