New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an update regarding fee refunds for millions of students who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 exam, stating that the fee refund window will be closed on Tuesday.

How many students have confirmed bank details?

The NTA said that the refund process has been initiated for candidates whose bank account verification has been completed. The agency said that a total of 8.29 lakh candidates have so far confirmed their bank details, and the students who want to apply for the NEET fee refund process can update their bank details by visiting the official website till 11:50 pm today.

Candidates who have not yet updated their bank details or have any errors in their information have been given a final chance to correct them today. According to the NTA, candidates who fail to update their bank details within the stipulated timeframe may face difficulties in receiving their refund.

Where will candidates receive the refund?

The NTA has clarified that fee refunds are being sent to the bank accounts of only those candidates whose bank details have been successfully verified on the portal. Accounts with already correct information do not require any additional action. The refund amount is being transferred to the accounts of such candidates in a phased manner. The agency also stated that candidates whose bank details are incomplete, incorrectly entered, or could not be verified should update their information to avoid any delays in the refund process.

What did the NTA say?

The NTA has posted on social media that the refund process for students who updated their bank details has begun. This means that their fees are being credited back to their accounts. If your bank details haven't been updated yet, you can complete this process by July 7.

How many students have updated their details?

Over 2.2 million students applied for the NEET exam. All of them paid their fees according to their respective categories, but not even half have applied for a refund yet. According to data released by the NTA, only 8,29,510 students have updated their bank details, meaning there are still 1.4 million students who have not completed the fee refund process. These students have only one day left; if they don't provide their information by July 7, their fees will not be refunded.
