Punjab government released Rs 71 crore for flood relief, affected districts will get immediate help

Punjab Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to compensate flood losses and provide complete support and relief to every affected family across Punjab.

Punjab Government: To help the families and farmers affected by the recent floods in Punjab, the state government has launched a major relief scheme. The government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced immediate release of relief funds for compensation of flood damage and rehabilitation work. Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the government is fully committed to provide relief and necessary assistance to the affected people without any delay.

He said that a total of Rs 71 crore has been released so far, out of which Rs 35.50 crore has been distributed to all the districts in the first phase. Now an additional Rs 35.50 crore is being given to the 12 most affected districts.

Priority of the government

Protection of Jan Dhan Mr. Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the state government is taking every possible step for the protection of Jan Dhan and necessary assistance is being provided to the affected families without any delay. For special relief to farmers, he further said that the Mann government is ensuring immediate relief as well as rehabilitation and special attention is being given to those farmers who have suffered huge losses of crops.
