Punjab Ministers Lead Relief Efforts, Aid Reaches Flood-Hit Villages Amid Rising Crisis

In Punjab’s flood-affected villages, relief operations are in full swing. Ministers and MLAs are distributing supplies, setting up camps, and ensuring victims and their cattle receive timely assistance under government supervision.

Punjab Flood Relief: Due to continuous heavy rains in Punjab, many villages have been affected by floods. Amidst this crisis, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur and Fazilka MLA Narinder Pal Singh Savna reached the flood-affected villages with relief material. They provided assistance to flood-affected families in villages Teja Ruhela and Chakk Ruhela and also distributed cattle feed for dairy animals.

The flood situation may get even more severe

Dr. Baljit Kaur said that due to continuous rain in the mountains, 1.7 lakh cusecs of water are being released from Harike Headworks. The effect of this water is likely to reach Fazilka district via Sutlej Creek by tomorrow, which may further increase the risk of floods. The minister appealed to the villagers that women, children, and the elderly should move to safer places.

Camps and services set up

The cabinet minister said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government has set up relief camps in the flood-affected areas. Teams from the health, animal husbandry, water supply, sanitation, and revenue departments are active and engaged in relief work in the villages. Food items and other relief materials are being provided, giving priority to pregnant women and children.

Every possible help is being provided

MLA Narinder Pal Singh Savna said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is providing every possible help to the flood-affected villages. Ration kits, cattle feed, and green fodder are also being distributed. Apart from this, a flood control room has been activated at the district level, where people can contact for any kind of help. Review of relief work by officials

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, SDM Veerpal Kaur, DSP Avinash Chandra, and Tehsildar Jaspreet Singh were also present on the occasion. Dr. Baljit Kaur held a meeting with the officials at the District Administrative Complex and reviewed the flood relief arrangements. She directed all the departments to promptly carry out relief work in the flood-affected areas and help the affected families.

The Punjab government has taken all necessary steps to provide relief to the flood-affected villages. Relief work is going on at a fast pace under the leadership of Dr. Baljit Kaur and MLA Narinder Pal Singh Savna, and government teams are making continuous efforts to provide help to the affected people.
