Big efforts of government and social workers in Fazilka flood crisis, Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund came forward

Punjab News: The recent floods in Fazilka district have devastated the lives of people. The fast flow of water entered villages and panchayats. People were forced to leave their homes and go to safer places. The standing crops in the fields were submerged. The year-long hard work of the farmers was wasted. Roads were broken and many houses developed cracks. In this difficult time, people were expecting immediate help from the government. 12 villages and 20 panchayats of Fazilka assembly constituency were completely hit by the flood.
Small farmers suffered huge losses. Crops like paddy and cotton in the fields were submerged in water. Household goods were washed away. People were forced to sit in the open. Local MLA Narendra Pal Singh visited the affected areas and immediately directed the administration to speed up relief work. Food items and medicines were delivered to the people.

Medical teams deployed

Eight medical teams in the district are continuously visiting villages and providing treatment. 26 additional teams were also deployed in relief camps. These teams immediately provided medicines to children, elderly and women. Four women were safely delivered amid the floods. Both mother and child are safe due to the hard work of doctors and nurses.

Many accidents happened during the flood. At some places, walls collapsed and at other places, people were electrocuted. The administration took immediate action and took the victims to the hospital. A child fell ill after falling into the water, but the ambulance reached on time and his life was saved. It is clear from these incidents that the administration is keeping an eye on the situation and is ready to provide every small or big help.
Relief reached people
Ration and essential items were delivered to more than 3800 families at one go. Relief material was delivered to flooded areas with the help of boats and tractors. When people received food and medicines, relief was visible on their faces. They got some solace amidst the panic and anxiety. Social organizations also worked shoulder to shoulder with the government.
