Thousands reached Anandpur Sahib ahead of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom anniversary, as the Punjab government completed wide-ranging arrangements for spiritual events, public safety, transport support and crowd assistance.
Punjab News: Four Nagar Kirtans arrived at Anandpur Sahib on 22 November, travelling from Srinagar, Gurdaspur, Faridkot and Talwandi Sabo. Their combined journey stretched to 1563 kilometres. Devotees welcomed them with immense devotion during arrival. Religious groups maintained discipline throughout the route. Officials highlighted spiritual enthusiasm across towns. This marked the beginning of large scale ceremonial activities.
Why Were Preparations Expanded Further?
Lakhs of devotees are expected between 23 and 25 November. The Punjab government, under leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, completed detailed planning for movement and safety. Ministers stated arrangements cover crowd guidance and medical response. Security posts and control systems were installed. Traffic and access routes were evaluated for smooth transit. What Spiritual Ceremonies Will Begin?
Akhand Path Bhog will commence the commemorations at Anandpur Sahib on 23 November, attended by Chief Minister and respected dignitaries. An interfaith meet organised at Baba Budha Dal complex will promote unity. Exhibitions at Virasat-e-Khalsa will reflect Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s journey. Which Heritage Based Events Scheduled?
On 24 November, a Nagar Kirtan will move from Kiratpur Sahib to Bhai Jaita Memorial. A heritage walk through core spiritual sites is planned.
