Infosys is investing Rs 300 crore to build a 30-acre campus in Mohali, creating more than 2,500 jobs in software, AI, and data analytics. Punjab Government’s ‘Mission Investment’ program is driving growth, empowering youth, and strengthening the state’s economy.

National News: Punjab is stepping into a new era of growth for its youth and economy. Infosys, one of India’s top IT companies, is investing 300 crore rupees to build a 30-acre campus in Mohali’s IT City. This project will generate over 2,500 high-quality technical jobs, marking an important step in making Punjab the leading IT hub in North India. The initiative reflects the government’s ‘Mission Investment’ program, which is quickly shaping Punjab’s path toward progress.
Modern Campus with Cutting-Edge Technology
The new Infosys campus in Mohali will focus on advanced technology. The project will be completed in two stages. The first stage will construct 3 lakh square feet and immediately offer jobs. The second stage will add 4.8 lakh square feet, creating a total of 2,500 to 2,700 positions. Opportunities will be available in software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other technical areas. For graduates in Punjab, this is a golden chance to start successful careers close to home.
Boost to Local Economy
Infosys’s investment will energize Mohali and Punjab’s economy. Local businesses will gain from salaries, taxes, and employee spending. Hotels, rental homes, shops, and vendors will see higher demand, generating more jobs indirectly. This project will strengthen Mohali’s economy and add to the state’s GDP. The government’s efforts show that Punjab is growing in IT and other sectors alongside agriculture.
Priority for Punjab’s Youth
Infosys has promised to give preference to local youth. The company will organize training and skill development programs with Punjab’s colleges and universities. Some experts may come from outside, but most jobs will be for Punjabi talent. This approach will prevent brain drain and allow young people to build bright futures in their own state.
Infrastructure and Future Plans
The Punjab Government is also improving infrastructure. PSIEC and GMADA are developing new roads, power substations, and other facilities, making Mohali modern and convenient. The campus launch is scheduled for November 5, 2025, on Gurpurab, and the project will progress in phases. Infosys already has operations in Chandigarh, but the Mohali campus will be larger and more modern. This project will help Punjab compete with Delhi, Noida, and other northern cities. Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora said, “This investment is a historic gift for our youth and economy. Our government is working with Infosys to complete this project on time and take Punjab to new heights. Through ‘Mission Investment,’ we will bring more companies here. This is our promise to every Punjabi – together, we will make Punjab shine!” The 300 crore rupee investment and over 2,500 jobs will bring prosperity to families across Punjab. This is more than a company project; it is a step toward the state’s overall progress. Punjab Government remains committed to development through schemes like ‘Mission Investment,’ ensuring employment and growth for every citizen.
