Every Rupee Counted! Mann Govt’s ‘Mission Chardi Kala’ Sets New Transparency Standard with 1,000+ Donors in Just 24 Hours
Over 1,000 donors contributed within 24 hours. Funds go to the Rangla Punjab Vikas Fund with complete transparency, encouraging both NRI and corporate support.

Severe floods have hit Punjab, a state known for feeding the entire country. To help people recover from this disaster, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched ‘Mission Chardi Kala.’ This mission focuses on quick relief, rehabilitation, and rebuilding work in flood-affected areas. It also aims to unite Punjabis and NRIs so they can work together to make the state strong, safe, and prosperous again. All donations collected will go to the ‘Rangla Punjab Vikas Fund,’ set up by the Punjab government to deal with emergencies. The fund will run only on voluntary contributions and will not use government budget money.
Transparent Use of Funds and NRI Support
To make sure everything stays open and clear, a monitoring team has been set up under the Chief Secretary with senior members from the finance and planning departments. Information about the donations will be updated regularly on the society’s website. NRI contributions will be free from FCRA rules, and corporate donations will count as CSR spending to get maximum participation. The Punjab government has promised that every rupee will be used properly and none will be wasted.
Public Trust and Mass Participation
This program has received huge support from the start. In the first 24 hours of its launch, more than 1,000 people donated, including many NRIs. Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney gave a large contribution of ₹1 crore. Also, 50 tractors and 10 JCB machines have been provided for relief and rebuilding work. This shows the public’s full trust in the government. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann thanked the first 1,000 donors who supported this mission and appealed to all Punjabis and NRIs to take part in this noble cause. He said, “Your help in 'Mission Chardi Kala' will play a key role in rebuilding Punjab after the floods.” Through this society, the government has also given a message of unity and openness during this crisis. ‘Mission Chardi Kala’ is more than just a relief drive; it has become a sign of Punjab’s hard work, courage, and unity. It proves that even in hard times, the Mann government stands with the people and is committed to making Punjab strong again, step by step.
