Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Confirms Resignation at Congress MLAs Meet; Host Breakfast For Cabinet Colleagues
While announcing his resignation, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah informed the ministers that although Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is out of the state, he would still tender his resignation.
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday announced his resignation during a breakfast meeting with Cabinet colleagues at Chief Minister's residence in Bengaluru. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was also present at the meeting. The Chief Minister is likely to formally tender his resignation at 3 pm.
What did Siddaramaiah say during the meeting?
While announcing his resignation, Siddaramaiah informed the ministers that although Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is out of the state, he would still tender his resignation.
Later, he also said that a Congress Legislative Party meeting would soon be held to elect the leader of the Karnataka Assembly and Chief Minister.

Did DK Shivakumar hug Siddaramaiah?
In the photos released by the Chief Minister's Office, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar can be seen hugging an emotional Shivakumar. In another picture, Shivakumar is seen touching the feet of Siddaramaiah and taking his blessings.

When will Karnataka CM resign?
Siddaramaiah will proceed to Lok Bhavan at 3 pm to submit his resignation to the Governor's Office, as Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is currently in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
