Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Announce Kanwar Yatra Route Diversions from July 11-25
Gautam Buddha Nagar Police have rolled out a comprehensive traffic diversion plan for the Kanwar Yatra, effective from July 11 to July 25, 2025, to ensure smooth passage for millions of pilgrims heading to Haridwar.

The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to manage the influx of Kanwariyas during the Kanwar Yatra, scheduled from July 11 to July 25, 2025. This annual pilgrimage, drawing millions of devotees to Haridwar to collect Ganga water, requires meticulous planning to ensure safety and order in Noida, a key transit hub. The plan, effective for 15 days, aims to balance the needs of pilgrims with the region’s daily commuting demands, minimizing disruptions while prioritizing safety.
Kanwar Yatra 2025
To facilitate smooth movement for Kanwariyas, who often travel on foot or in processions, the police have diverted goods vehicles heading to Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, and Moradabad. These vehicles will now use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, bypassing congested routes like the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and DND Flyway. This rerouting is designed to prevent traffic bottlenecks in urban areas and ensure safe passage for pilgrims, particularly along the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, where heavy footfall is expected during the yatra.
Police issue Traffic Advisory ahead of Kanwar Yatra
Recognizing the importance of uninterrupted emergency services, the police have exempted ambulances, fire brigades, and other essential vehicles from the restrictions. This measure ensures that hospitals, police operations, and other critical services remain operational, even as major roads see closures or diversions. The decision reflects the administration’s commitment to public safety, allowing life-saving services to function seamlessly amidst the pilgrimage’s demands.
Kanwar Yatra Traffic Plan
To assist commuters and pilgrims alike, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police have launched helpline numbers, including 9971009001, for real-time traffic updates and guidance. These helplines will operate 24/7, helping residents navigate diversions and providing information on road conditions. Additional police personnel will be deployed along key routes, and temporary facilities like water stalls and medical camps are being set up for Kanwariyas. As Noida braces for the yatra, this plan underscores a coordinated effort to harmonize spiritual devotion with efficient traffic management.
