Punjab News: Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joined as chief guests at the grand ‘One India Fest’ held at Lovely Professional University (LPU). On this occasion, Mr. Kejriwal described the event as “a great celebration of India’s unity” and said Punjab is now becoming not only a hub for education but also a symbol of cultural harmony and joint growth. Both leaders admired the scale and message of the event and motivated the youth to help in the nation’s development.

Colorful Celebration of India’s Diversity

At the event, thousands of students showcased India’s diversity through the theme ‘Mini India’. Students presented folk dances, music, traditional dresses, and dishes from different states—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Assam. The event reflected India’s cultural richness on one platform. It was not only a cultural show but also a live example of national unity and the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).

Campus Filled with Cultural Vibrance

The entire LPU campus was beautifully decorated with state-themed tableaux, cultural stalls, and performances. Students highlighted traditions from across India, including Punjab’s Bhangra, Rajasthan’s Ghoomar, Assam’s Bihu, Kerala’s Mohiniyattam, Gujarat’s Garba, and Uttar Pradesh’s folk dances. Each performance showed the students’ hard work and love for their culture. The audience felt emotional while watching the shows, and the campus echoed with loud applause and cheers.

Messages from Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann

In his address, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal said such programs give youth a chance to connect with the country’s diversity and strengthen brotherhood. He said, “India’s real power lies in its diversity. When young people from different regions and cultures come together, it shows we are one nation.” He encouraged students to value their own culture while respecting others. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government is focused on education and youth development. He stated, “Our goal is not just to provide degrees but to make our youth skilled, cultured, and patriotic. Institutions like LPU are doing excellent work toward this.” He also mentioned that new programs are being planned to support cultural and creative activities in colleges and universities.

Festive Spirit and Closing Highlights

Welcoming both leaders, LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal said that ‘One India Fest’ is the university’s largest and most loved cultural event. He shared that students from over 30 states took part, and more than 50,000 students, teachers, and guests joined the celebration. Mr. Mittal added, “Our aim is to give students a platform to share their culture and learn about others.” Traditional food stalls from many states were also set up, offering dishes like Punjab’s Sarson da Saag and Makki di Roti, Bengal’s fish and Rasgulla, Hyderabad’s Biryani, Gujarat’s Dhokla, Maharashtra’s Vada Pav, and South India’s Dosa and Idli. The whole campus was filled with the aroma of these dishes. Exhibitions of handicrafts, jewelry, and artworks also displayed India’s creative traditions. Mr. Kejriwal congratulated LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal and his team for organizing such a grand event. He said, “Punjab’s youth are the future of India. Helping them grow and succeed is our biggest duty. The energy and excitement I saw here today show that India’s future is bright.” He reminded students to focus not only on their careers but also on their duties toward society and the nation. The ‘One India Fest’ of Lovely Professional University has now become a national-level cultural platform. It brings together students from across India each year and truly represents the idea of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” This festival helps preserve culture and spreads the spirit of unity, social harmony, and national pride among youth. The presence of both chief ministers made the event even more memorable and inspiring.
