Seven Days After Release, Coolie Producers Move Court Against CBFC Over A Certificate Controversy
Rajinikanth’s film Coolie, despite huge box office success, faces controversy as producers approach court against CBFC for granting an A certificate, sparking debate over censorship and film classification.

Entertainment News: South superstar Rajinikanth's film Coolie is creating a stir all over the world. The film is earning a lot. This film, which was released along with War 2, has earned almost double the amount of War 2. There is a tremendous craze for the film abroad. While on one hand the box office collection of the film is going strong, on the other hand a new controversy has also started regarding this film. The producers of Coolie believe that the censor board has been biased against them and has given it an A certificate instead of U/A. Which is affecting the film's earnings. Now the censor board has also reacted to this.
Producers of Coolie complained
Sun Pictures, the production house of Rajinikanth's film Coolie, has approached the Madras High Court and targeted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Actually, the CBFC gave the film an A certificate in view of its violent scenes, due to which the film was banned for children. Now the production house has challenged the A certificate given to the film by the CBFC.
They believe that films like KGF and Beast also show action of the same intensity as in the film Coolie, but despite this, both those films were given U/A certificates by the CBFC, and the film Coolie got an A certificate. At the same time, the CBFC is now thinking of filing a counter affidavit in this matter. In this connection, the Additional Solicitor General has also sought some time from the court. Now the court hearing on this matter is awaited.
CBFC reacted like this
On the other hand, CBFC has also reacted to the allegations of the makers. CBFC denied the allegations and said that some cuts were already suggested to the makers of the film, with which they were going to get a U/A certificate. But the makers rejected this proposal. Therefore, the film was given an A certificate. Talking about the earnings of the film Coolie, this film has collected more than 420 crores at the box office in 7 days.
