Liton will be the T20 team captain from now on
The league stage matches of the IPL 2025 T20 league are continuing in India even now. It is in its 18th year. Matches are being conducted in which 2 teams got eliminated.Meanwhile, Bangladesh cricket team's captain has been replaced. A statement by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on May 4 confirmed Liton will take over as captain of the T20 team for now. He will be retained in this capacity until the Indian-hosted 2026 World Cup T20. He has taken over the role from Nazmul Hasan Shanto, who resigned as captain earlier this year. Vice-captain is off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Will challenge India
Liton Das will feature in the two-match T20 series against UAE, to be held between May 17 and 19. They will play a five-match T20 series against Pakistan from May 25 to June 3. Liton Das will feature against India in June. Team India will be on tour in Bangladesh in August this year, where they must play 3-3 matches ODI and T20 series.
In the T20 series, Team India will get a challenging test in the name of Liton Das. Liton Das has once captained Bangladesh in all formats. As captain, Bangladesh had played 11 matches under his leadership where they lost 4. He became team captain during the West Indies tour. Bangladesh won the series 3–0 under his leadership.
Liton Das has been picked for the 16-member side against UAE
Liton Das has recently opted to keep himself away from his national team in order to represent the Pakistan Super League. Tell me, Liton Das was selected by the Karachi Kings team in the silver category this year. "Unfortunately I could not play in this tournament although I was eagerly waiting for it," Liton said in a statement. It's just my bad luck. Now his injury has recovered. Thus, he has been picked for the 16-member squad against UAE.
