Asia Cup 2025 Final, IND vs PAK: Ahead of the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar has offered important advice to Suryakumar Yadav. Gavaskar suggested Surya play cautiously in the first few balls to understand the pitch conditions and then bat in his own style. Suryakumar Yadav has scored 71 runs in five innings so far in the Asia Cup 2025, averaging 23.66 and striking at 107.57. His scores include 7 not out, 47 not out, 0, 5, and 12. This performance is in stark contrast to his IPL 2025 form, where he scored 717 runs at an average of 65.18 and a strike rate of 167.91.
Sunil Gavaskar gave advice to Suryakumar Yadav
Speaking to Sports Today, Sunil Gavaskar said, "Suryakumar is undoubtedly a brilliant player. I would just say that he should play the first three or four balls to understand the pace, bounce, and turn of the pitch. Watching the pitch from the dugout and batting on the field are two different experiences. Sometimes a batsman may think there is no problem with the pitch, but it is always better to play a few balls and assess the conditions. After that, he can return to his natural game."
India's victory against Sri Lanka
Gavaskar also praised India's Super Over victory against Sri Lanka. Batting first, India scored 202/5, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61 and Tilak Varma scoring an unbeaten 49. In reply, Sri Lanka equalized the score, and the match went into a Super Over. Arshdeep Singh's brilliant bowling secured India's victory.
Gavaskar called the match challenging
Gavaskar said, "Such a tough match before the final could be beneficial for India. It wasn't a bad day, but a challenging one. The team showed remarkable composure in the final overs. If Harshit had bowled slower balls instead of faster ones, the result might have been better. However, the way India fought back despite the brilliant performances of Nissanka and Perera shows their strength and mental toughness."
