Delhi High Court Deals Another Blow to Turkish Firm Celebi, Rejects Plea Against Security Clearance Cancellation
The Delhi High Court dismissed the petition of the Turkish company 'Celebi Ground Handling India Private Limited' against the cancellation of security clearance.

National News: The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed another petition of the Turkish company 'Celebi Ground Handling India Private Limited.' The company had challenged the decision of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) in which its security clearance was revoked in the interest of national security. The decision was pronounced by Justice Tejas Karia, who dismissed the petition and underlined the importance of national security.
Justice Tejas Karia, while dismissing the petition, clarified that the case is similar to other petitions already filed. He said that this issue has already been clearly covered in the decision of the single judge. The court said in its order, "Accordingly, the petition is dismissed."
Earlier, on July 05, a coordination bench had also dismissed the petitions of Celebi Airport Services India Private Limited and Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India Private Limited, challenging the decision to cancel their security clearance.
Natural Justice vs. National Interest
In its judgment, the coordination bench said the principle of natural justice was important but added that national interests should be given priority in cases of "security of the state." The bench said that the case involved "important considerations related to national security," which forced the central government to take action against Celebi and its associate companies. The Government of India had cancelled the security clearance of these companies on the basis of national security, which the court justified.
Reason for action against Selebi
Celebi Ground Handling India Pvt Ltd, a Turkey-based company, provides ground handling and cargo management services at airports in India. However, BCAS revoked its security clearance due to concerns related to national security. This move of the government is being considered an important step towards ensuring the security and sovereignty of the country.
