Tamil Nadu CM Stalin hoists black flag, burns delimitation bill copy, terms it 'black law'
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, who is campaigning in Namakkal in western Tamil Nadu, burned a copy of the Delimitation Bill to show protest against it.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday has burned a copy of the Delimitation Bill in Namakkal to show protest against it, terming the legislation a "black law" and alleged that it attempts to turn Tamil people into "refugees" in their own land. Hours before the special session, Stalin hoisted a black flag.
What did M K Stalin do?
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, who is campaigning in Namakkal in western Tamil Nadu, burned a copy of the bill. Stalin and others people dressed in black chanted slogans, including "Poradavom, Velavom Ondraga" (Let us fight together, let us win together).
He raised a black flag and burned a copy of the delimitation bill to show his protest against the bill.

What did Tamil Nadu CM say?
After, burning copy of the bill, Stalin urged people to hoist black flags in their homes for three days to show their disagreement.
In a statement, Stalin said, "LLet the flame of resistance spread across Tamil Nadu. Let the arrogance of the fascist BJP be brought down. Then, the fire of resistance against Hindi imposition that rose from Tamil Nadu scorched Delhi. It quietened only after Delhi was forced to yield. Today, I have reignited that fire by burning the copy of this black law that seeks to turn Tamils into refugees in our own land."
The Chief Minister was clearly referring to the anti-Hindi movement in the state in the 1960s.

What did Stalin say about burning the copy?
"Today, by burning a copy of this black law and raising a black flag, I have rekindled the fire that seeks to turn Tamils into refugees on our own soil. This fire will now spread throughout the Dravidian land. It will rage, it will be fierce, and it will force the BJP's arrogance to its knees."
Were black flags raised across Tamil Nadu?
After Stalin displayed the black flag, his party functionaries, ministers and workers across Tamil Nadu hoisted black flags at their homes, party offices and public places.
Besides the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) state headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam' in Chennai, black flags were hoisted at prominent places in the Chennai premises of Kamal Haasan-led Makkal Needhi Maiam and Vaiko-led Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), allies of the DMK.
